College Is Destroying Students Through Debt
College is destroying our students with high college debts. Now think about it. Joe Biden wants to use an executive order to wipe clean the college loan debts owed by over 44 million college students—nearly $1.7 trillion in total. Realize, the majority of this debt will be forgiven to upper-class students who went to Yale and Harvard, and MIT to become doctors and lawyers and engineers. So here is the kicker—Joe’s act directly gives a value to the American college degree—zero. He isn’t forgiving car loan debts that have a value—the car. He isn’t forgiving home loan debts that have a value—the home. And yet Mr. Biden fully knows that a student loan debt is of no value—it is worthless because the degree that was earned by a student loan is worthless. Notice how every single program provides the student a real job skill upon graduation from the program. EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM! Now, think of 50 college majors, such as psychology, gender studies, black history, journalism, social work, criminal justice, theater, and so on.
Out of the 50 degrees that come to mind, how many of them provide the student a real job skill upon graduation from college?
Out of the 50 degrees that come to mind, very few of them provide the student a real job skill upon graduation from college. Maybe ten—15 at the most. Even more, they graduate with a college debt that is destructive, And please, if you think a teaching degree counts, it doesn’t. Our teachers are ranked 26th in the world because our students are academically ranked 26th internationally. Why on earth would you send your kid to college? Why?
